Trump administration moves to block Clean Air Act lawsuit against Elon Musk's xAI

The Trump administration is intervening to help Elon Musk's xAI Corp. defeat a Clean Air Act lawsuit filed by the NAACP. The suit alleges that xAI operated 27 gas turbines without an air permit in Mississippi, later increasing to 57, to power a data center supporting the Grok chatbot.

The administration argues that blocking the lawsuit is necessary because the data center supports Grok systems used by the military. The turbines have also raised health and noise concerns among nearby residents.
