The Trump administration is intervening to help Elon Musk's xAI Corp. defeat a Clean Air Act lawsuit filed by the NAACP. The lawsuit alleges xAI operated 27 gas turbines without a permit in Mississippi, later increasing to 57, to power a data center running the Grok chatbot.
The administration argues the lawsuit threatens the data center, which is used by the U.S. military.
