Trump’s AI-Powered Redesign of Government Websites Yields Disastrous Results

President Trump created the National Design Studio (NDS) by executive order to overhaul all 27,000 U.S. government websites using AI within three years. The effort has been hampered by previous cuts from DOGE, which dismantled agencies like 18F and the US Digital Service that were responsible for improving government sites.

Consequently, the initiative is producing poorly designed, AI-generated websites rather than the intended improvements in usability and aesthetics.
