The United States has lifted export controls on Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models, approximately three weeks after the Trump administration flagged them as national security risks. Fable 5 is now available globally, while U.S.
organizations regained access to Mythos 5 on June 26. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed in a letter that the models no longer require export licenses, citing Anthropic’s cooperation with the government to address safety concerns.
Anthropic is also working to expand Mythos access to trusted cybersecurity partners through the Glasswing program.
