Ukrainian drone maker reports first known killing of soldiers by fully autonomous drones

The CEO of Ukrainian drone manufacturer Aero Center, Alexander Kokhanovskyy, disclosed that fully autonomous drones killed Russian soldiers during a battlefield test two years ago. In the test, quadcopter drones were preprogrammed to fly to a front-line area and activate an AI-powered 'Terminator mode' to autonomously seek and attack targets.

No video footage of the attack was recorded, but subsequent human-piloted drone reconnaissance found dead Russian soldiers, which the company attributes to the autonomous drones. If verified, the incident would mark a significant milestone in the use of AI-guided weaponry in warfare.
