US lifts export restrictions on Anthropic's Claude AI models after safety review

The US has lifted export restrictions on Anthropic’s new Claude models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, about three weeks after the Trump administration flagged them as national security risks. Fable 5 is now available globally, while US organizations regained access to Mythos 5 on June 26. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed that Anthropic no longer needs an export license, acknowledging the company addressed the risks in coordination with the government.
