US Lifts Export Restrictions on Anthropic’s Claude AI Models After Security Review

The United States has lifted export curbs on Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models, about three weeks after the Trump administration flagged them as national security risks. Fable 5 is now available globally, and US organizations regained access to Mythos 5 on June 26. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick informed Anthropic that it no longer needs a license for exports or in-country transfers, acknowledging the company’s cooperation with the government to address the risks.
