Facing pressure over Grok's potential for generating non-consensual sexualized images, xAI filed a lawsuit against Terry Wayne Harwood, the first user it has accused of using the chatbot for illegal content. Harwood was arrested earlier this year for possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM).
xAI claims it assisted in the arrest after discovering Harwood used two accounts for months to “nudify” images of multiple victims, including a girl as young as 10. The suit marks xAI's shift from denial to legal action as scrutiny mounts.
