xAI Sues User for Using Grok to Generate Child Sexual Abuse Material

Facing pressure to acknowledge that its Grok chatbot can still generate non-consensual sexualized images of adults and minors, xAI has filed a lawsuit against Terry Wayne Harwood, the first user accused of creating illegal content with the tool. Harwood was arrested earlier this year on charges of possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and xAI claims it assisted in the arrest after discovering he used two accounts to undress images of multiple victims, including a young girl as young as 10. The lawsuit marks a shift in strategy for Elon Musk's company, which previously denied Grok could produce CSAM.
