Xbox releases for the rest of October 2026: co-op, RPGs and Modern Warfare 4

Xbox releases for the rest of October 2026: co-op, RPGs and Modern Warfare 4

The remaining October calendar on Xbox offers several different ways to spend an evening: solve puzzles with a partner, explore an alien world, settle into a turn-based RPG or return to Call of Duty. This selection is checked as of 18 October and focuses on confirmed Series X|S releases rather than treating every Game Pass announcement as a new game.

20 October: We Were Here Tomorrow

Total Mayhem Games sends two explorers into a mysterious retro-futuristic facility. Communication is central: each player has different information and tools, so progress depends on sharing what you can see and working together.

This is a sensible pick for an established co-op pair rather than someone looking for a solo adventure. The Xbox listing confirms an optimized Series X|S version and online co-op for two players.

22 October: FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE

Square Enix brings turn-based combat and HD-2D visuals to an adventure built around a travelling party and Visions drawn from Final Fantasy history. Its release is a full game rather than DLC. The Xbox product page also confirms Play Anywhere support and a 22 October date, making it worth checking for players who switch between Xbox and Windows.

22 October: Moadra

Gloomsoft’s exploration-led action game takes place on Protea VI. Combat, puzzles, hidden routes and evolving abilities form the core of the journey. The official Xbox listing confirms Series X|S optimization and Play Anywhere. The date comes from Xbox Wire’s weekly release schedule; it should not be reused as proof of a Steam launch.

23 October: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

Modern Warfare 4 is the week’s large-scale shooter release. Xbox Wire distinguishes the 23 October global launch from campaign early access beginning 16 October. For readers joining after this article’s cutoff, the relevant upcoming date is the full launch, not the already-started campaign window.

29 October: an additional backward-compatible option

The Wolf Among Us Remastered is also worth noting, but with a precise label: Telltale specifies an Xbox One release playable on Series X|S through backward compatibility. It should not be presented as a confirmed native Series X|S edition.

Check your regional store before purchasing. Multiplayer requirements, editions and availability can differ, and this shortlist does not claim to cover every small release arriving during the final week of October.
