Anthropic Takes Advanced AI Models Offline After US Export Control Order

Anthropic removed its Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models after a US government directive barred foreign nationals from accessing them. The company, which has warned of the models' dual-use cybersecurity capabilities, is negotiating with the White House to restore service. Earlier versions were released to a select group, and the public release included blocks on biology and cybersecurity queries.
