Federal Judge Rules Trump Administration's Blacklisting of Anthropic Unlawful

A federal judge has ruled that the Trump administration illegally blacklisted Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI model, by designating it a national security supply-chain risk. The court found the action was unlawful retaliation for Anthropic's refusal to remove restrictions on using its technology for lethal autonomous warfare and mass surveillance of Americans. Judge Rita Lin, of the US District Court for the Northern District of California, vacated the government directives and granted key parts of Anthropic's summary judgment motion, stating that the actions violated the First Amendment.
