Notion Shuts Down Its AI-Powered Email Client, Citing Shift to AI Agents

Notion is shutting down Notion Mail, its AI-powered email client, on September 22, 2026. The company acquired encrypted email startup Skiff in February 2024, closed Skiff's email service within a year, and launched Notion Mail in April 2025 using talent from the acquisition. Notion stated that most users no longer rely on traditional email clients, instead preferring AI agents to handle their correspondence.
