The U.S. Department of Defense has adopted generative AI tools to write hundreds of reports required annually by Congress. Pentagon Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael revealed at a Hudson Institute event that AI can complete a report in five hours instead of the usual 200 hours of staffing time.
Since December 2025, the Pentagon has made AI tools, including Google Cloud’s Gemini for Government, available to all military branches through its GenAI.mil platform.
