San Francisco Demands Apple and Google Remove AI 'Nudify' Apps from App Stores

San Francisco Attorney General David Chiu sent cease-and-desist letters to Apple and Google, ordering them to remove 13 AI-powered "nudification" apps from their app stores. These tools allow users to easily create explicit deepfake images from ordinary photos by removing clothing, altering features, or swapping faces onto nude bodies. Chiu warned that hosting such apps violates California laws prohibiting services that support deepfake pornography, as reported by Wired.
