Anthropic pulled its Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models offline after a US government export-control directive barred foreign nationals from using them. The company is in talks with the White House to reinstate the services.
Anthropic has warned that these models have advanced dual-use capabilities, useful for cybersecurity but also exploitable by malicious actors. The models were initially released to a select consortium under Project Glasswing, with public versions having restrictions on biology and cybersecurity queries.
