With millions of people buying smart glasses each year, the chance of being secretly recorded in public is rising. Meta's AI glasses are the most popular of these devices, prompting some schools, courts, restaurants, and entertainment venues to ban them.
Even DEF CON 2026 reportedly prohibited all smart glasses, telling attendees with prescription pairs to bring non-violating eyewear. The growing demand for the glasses makes such unwanted recordings harder to avoid.
