Meta's AI glasses have become the most popular smart eyewear on the market, raising the likelihood that people may be secretly recorded in everyday settings. In response, some schools, courts, restaurants, and entertainment venues have banned the devices. Even DEF CON, a major hacker conference, prohibited all smart glasses and told attendees with prescription pairs to bring non-violating eyewear.
