Federal Judge Rules Trump Administration's Blacklisting of Anthropic Unlawful

A federal judge has ruled that the Trump administration illegally blacklisted Anthropic, vacating government directives against the company's AI technology. The court found that designating the firm a national security supply-chain risk was unlawful retaliation for Anthropic's refusal to drop restrictions on using its products for lethal autonomous warfare and mass surveillance of Americans. In her ruling, Judge Rita Lin of the US District Court for the Northern District of California concluded that the actions violated the First Amendment and granted key parts of Anthropic's motion for summary judgment.
