Jeff Bezos' new startup Prometheus, which focuses on applying deep learning to robotics and manufacturing—an area known as physical AI—has raised $12 billion in a new funding round, bringing total funding to $18.2 billion and valuing the company at $41 billion. The round includes investments from JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, and Bezos himself.
Bezos explained that the significant funding is necessary because the work is highly compute-intensive and requires generating large amounts of data. The startup currently employs 150 people.
