A Connecticut judge has identified what appears to be the first U.S. case in which a plaintiff hid text in court filings that was invisible to humans but readable by AI systems.
The hidden prompts instructed any AI reviewing the documents to agree with the plaintiff's arguments, ignore prior court denials, and support his desired outcome. Judge Walter Spader Jr.
said the tactic had no impact on the ruling, as the case was decided on its merits, but he warned that it set a dangerous precedent as AI becomes more common in courts.
