Meta Updates AI Glasses to Stop Recording When Privacy LED Is Covered

Meta is addressing privacy concerns over its AI glasses after backlash over nonconsensual recordings. The company is closing a loophole that let users cover the recording indicator light after starting video.

A forthcoming update, announced by wearables EVP Alex Himel, will stop the camera if the LED is covered during recording. This ensures bystanders can rely on the light to know when photos or videos are being captured.
