Notion Shuts Down Notion Mail, Citing User Shift to AI Agents

Notion acquired encrypted email startup Skiff in February 2024 and shut down its email service within a year.

In April 2025, the company launched Notion Mail, a Gmail client developed primarily by former Skiff employees.

Now, Notion has announced it will sunset Notion Mail on September 22, stating that most users prefer AI agents over traditional email clients.
