OpenAI and Anthropic are cutting prices on some of their latest AI models as they compete for customers seeking cheaper alternatives. Rising AI costs have pushed many businesses to reduce usage and explore lower-priced options from Chinese developers such as Moonshot and DeepSeek.

OpenAI announced an 80% price cut for its GPT-5.6 Luna model, while Anthropic introduced Claude Opus 5 at half the price of its flagship Fable 5 model. The moves reflect growing pressure from cost-conscious users and intensifying competition in the global AI market.
