OpenAI Launches Its First Branded Hardware: A $230 Light-Up Keyboard for Codex Agents

OpenAI has released its first branded hardware device, the Codex Micro, a $230 RGB-lit mini-keyboard designed for monitoring and interacting with multiple Codex agents. Developed in a limited-run collaboration with Work Louder, it features six frosted keys that provide color-coded live feedback on up to six Codex threads.

The keys change color to indicate status: white when idle, blue when processing, green when complete, amber when requiring user input, and red on error. Tapping a lit key brings the corresponding Codex window into focus, allowing quick task management.
