Space Exploration Technologies Corp., or SpaceX, has agreed to acquire AI coding platform Cursor for $60 billion in an all-stock transaction. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of this year.
Cursor's integration of large language model features into its IDE was a pioneering step, but other platforms and larger companies have since expanded with similar capabilities. This deal marks SpaceX's ongoing efforts to establish itself as a leader in the field of artificial intelligence.
