The US has lifted export controls on Anthropic's newest Claude models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, roughly three weeks after the Trump administration flagged them as national security risks. Fable 5 is now available globally, while US organizations regained access to Mythos 5 on June 26.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated that Anthropic no longer needs a license for exports or transfers, acknowledging the company's cooperation with the government to address risks. Anthropic is also working to expand Mythos access to trusted cybersecurity researchers through the Glasswing program.
